For approximately the same money you could get polyurethane foam components from JC Penney, and not have to be worry about air leaks.
(free shipping code F76WKIT for orders above $75 - good till 10/31/06)

5" polyurethane base

3.5" polyurethane topper

Memory foam or latex toppers would cost a little more.

Thank you so much, this is very helpful!
yes......Air bed mattress is for those who do not have much space to keep the mattress on the floor all day. An air bed mattress can be identical for these situations.

Aero beds are the major innovator of air-filled beds in the world. The aero beds contain select, patented pump and valve technology so that their airbeds and other products inflate and deflate quickly.

It depends on what you want or need.

Some one with a bad back, shouldnt sleep on a water bed, but something that is hard. A person with a normal back can sleep on either one...

Air beds are nice, but if they get a hole in them, they can be a pain to fix..(make sure no one gets into bed with sharp things in thier pockets).

    I wish you well...
