Show me another »What age should a toddler move to a twin bed?
I have a three year old and he sleeps in a toddler bed. But some of my friends have kids the same age and some are physically smaller and they are sleeping in twin beds. I was just wondering what age a toddler should be introduced to a twin bed.

The age of three is about the best time. A two year old cant understand the reason why there not in a crib. And a four year old in a crib is just crazy.

- well if a toddler bed is a cot then wen they are toddlers, but if a toddler bed is just a small bed then you move them out when they get to big for it.0% 0 Votes
- My son skipped the toddler bed....I just bought the a top frame from a bunk bed, (they have the rails on the sides). I did not see the point of paying for a toddler bed that he would only sleep in for a year.....if you want to move him up then do...if not..wait until he is older....Thats is your choice and I don't think it will make a differance at all.
Toddler bed, twin bed....does not really matter...they manage to fall out, and they still manage to wake up and get into things in the night....I would not waste the money on a toddler bed....just go for the twin.0% 0 Votes - Probably whenever you feel he is ready, there's no "set" age. My youngest granddaughter was moved to a twin bed when she was three, but she was very restless, started getting up at night etc. so she was moved back to her toddler bed for a few months until she asked for the "big girl's bed". With some of the others, we found that tucking them in with pillows to make a smaller sleeping space seemed to help them adjust. Don't feel pressured by what others are doing. Good luck.0% 0 Votes
- if your toddler is still comfortable in his bed and if he's still small enough for it, why try to put him in a bigger bed just now? don't worry about what other people are doing with their kids... just go with what feels right.0% 0 Votes
- I moved my kids into twin beds at 13 months of age and they never had a problem with falling out of bed (my son did once when he was 4 lol). They never had a problem with getting out and wondering or trying to get out of going to bed at night.

When he can do that, move him to a twin or toddler matress on the floor. Then, teach him to stay in the bed when you leave the room. My son is only 15 months, so I'm not speaking from experience. :)0% 0 Votes
- My son has been in a toddler bed that he can get in and out of since before he turned two. As long as he can climb up in it, and get out of it safely, without rolling out, then what is the difference?0% 0 Votes

- my daughter when from the crib to her daybed about 22 months. Just make sure he can get in and out of it without hurting himself. I would put up some toddler rails too.0% 0 Votes
