Question for someone who has bunk beds?

My celing is just under 8 feet, its 93inches tall. We are looking at getting bunk beds, but im afraid the celing is too low?

I went to the furnatre store and measured the beds, and to the top of the highest railing was around 72 inches. Of course this railing is higher than the mattress.

I am horrible at eye-balling things, could someone who has bunk beds and a lower celing measure how tall their ceiling is and tell me if it is logical for me to have bunk beds?

We were in the same situation as your measurements. It's OK they'll be fine. The bunk beds are not springy like a regular bed, the mattress is on hard plywood and they won't be encouraged to jump around on. We still have our set but it's broken down into two separate rooms now. Hope this was helpful. ;-)

That's almost 2' of clearance between the railing and the ceiling alone. For a bunk bed for some youngsters, that's livable. They shouldn't be doing much else but sleeping up there anyways so I don't see a problem with it. The ideal would be more like 4' but then again if you want to talk about ideal situations then not needing bunk beds would really be "ideal."
