I have a dark wood High back sleigh bed that I love. Every morning I can run my had across it and pick up a lot of dust.
Our room was just painted a peach color and there is a unframedcloth painting above it. There is no ceiling light just lamps on the nightstands. I am allergic to dust and every AM I wake up congested. Please help. I do not want to take an antihistamine every night to keep my new bed,

If you wipe down the wood with mineral oil based lemon oil furniture polish, the dust will be less apparent. The unframed cloth painting will not give off dust unless it is agitated, but it should be vacuumed from time to time with the horsehair vacuum attachment that fits on the vacuum wand. A small ionizer will help with dust because it causes dust to fall to the floor instead of floating around and landing on higher objects. Beware of larger ionizers since they produce ozone. What is ozone? To oversimplify --free radicals. Even a tiny air purifier will keep a room amazingly clean. The hepa ones do a great job, but they tend to use a higer amount of electricity and are more noisy. The first time someone has to buy one of those expensive filters, is usually the last time the unit ever gets used.

- dust is everywhere and your room is dusty mostly because of carpet. I got a air purifier HEPA filter with "99.99% efficiency in my room and it helps a lot
- I would recommend buying an air purifier for your room. I have a True Hepa Air purifier that gets rid of dust, hair, pollen and even 99.2% of germs and bacteria in the air. You clean it about once a month and its pretty crazy to see all the dust it catches.
- Change your furnace filter at least every six months.
