Show me another »What type of paint do I use to paint my bed frame?
I have a pine bed frame from Ikea that was sold with a clear coat finish (varnish?) already applied. Is there any type of paint that can be applied directly over this, or must the frame be sanded first? I want to paint the frame white.

Give it a light sanding, then go over it with a tack cloth to remove any residual sanding and paint. Then spray it with white metal spray paint (Krylon). I doesn't have to be perfect. It's not like anybody is going to see it once you put the bedding on.
