How do I stop my noisy pine bed from squeaking?
My bed is quite noisy when I turn in it it is a pine bed but I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to stop it being noisy. Its the same sort of squeaking floor board noise it makes any ideas?
Additional Details
Come on now oil? On wood? Wouldn't that split the wood?

I guess I could tell you to quit turning over, but I won't...
If you can figure out where it is squeaking, you can uses bar soap & rub it on the two rubbing surfaces. You might get someone to turn over several times while you pinpoint the noise.
Good luck...
Additional:
Don't use oil, get a can of dry silicone spray & use it only on metal-metal squeaks...and sparingly...

If there is screws all around,....tighten it up or see if you can spray it with oil or insert some things in between the seams.

Well you could keep really still!!
But if not i think that waxing or oiling it would be a good idea.
Wood needs to be treated to keep it supple and so get some special wood oil or wax, you could probably get in in a DIY shop or a furniture shop.

I always undestood that graphite (pencil lead) can act as a lubricant in wooden joints. You could try undoing the joints and rubbing some on and retightening them up. Don't use oil!

Dry(Powdered) graphite will help if the squeaking is the result of wood on wood contact. This graphite is usu. sold at Home centers in the area of the key cutting machines. Dry graphite is a lock lubricant too. If the squeaking is the result of a fastener, i.e. screw or nail moving against the wood then that fastner should be tightened. If it is a nail squeaking then remove the nail and use a screw instead.

Try as Chito says, tighten up all the screws, if this doesn't work, undo them and rub all the joints with candle wax, then re-assemble the bed and tighten up the screws.
It does work I've done it.
lso as other people have said, don't us oil.
Good luck.

Tighten the screws up all round or get your son to do that. If the problem persists - get a new bed (go on splash out - you know you want to!)
