Does joining two single beds together make a twin, double or king sized bed?

I need to buy a fitted sheet and bedding appropriate to the size of the bed. I am joining two single beds - would that make a double bed, king sized bed or twin sized bed?

King = 6ft
Queen = 5ft
Double = 4'6"
Three quarter = 4ft
Single = 3ft
