Show me another »What is the proper way to paint a bed frame?
I have a white bed frame that I want to paint black. Should I prime it first and then paint over it or it wouldn't matter?

- I would brush on Bix Original Stripper, then wash it off with a powerful spray of water. After it dries I would spray paint it. Do all this in the back yard, however.0% 0 Votes
- yes you want to prime it first. primer has a bonding agent in it, it will hold to the older white paint better then just paint. let the primer dry for about 3 hours, and then paint. and you do want to use a spray, and dont try to cover the primer in one coat. you will get runs in it. take your time spray painting the frame, it will turn out like a pro did it!

painter for 30 years0% 0 Votes - I would rub a dense sand paper over it to help rough it up. And then I would paint it with 2 coats.

That's how I did my kitchen cabinets. (I also did primer, but that is because I went from dark wood to white)0% 0 Votes
