Pine wood defined

Since a lot of furniture pieces are made from pine wood like dining tables, chairs, cabinets, or beds; it is best to know what a pine wood is.

There are two types of wood - hardwood and softwood . The classification is primarily based on the tree's leaves and not on how tough the wood is. The hardwood trees have leaves that fall seasonally while the softwoods have leaves intact all year-round.

Pine is considered softwood and it varies from country to country. Some of the most commonly used pines for furniture in the US include Eastern White Pine, Sugar pine, and Ponderosa. These pine trees produce pine wood that features a light yellow color with dark, standout grains and knots. Pine wood is great for staining and as a softwood, it is easy to carve and work on.

Are aquariums bad for hamsters? (Answers: 6) (Comments: 0)
Upon searching for a rat rescue to adopt a rat from, my wife and I came upon a small animal rescue and while reading the description we found this sentence "I do not keep my animals in aquariums, as it causes respiratory problems." I know that it's said that cedar/pine/wood bedding causes respiratory problems, so we switched to Carefresh (paper based), but is the aquarium itself bad too?!

Can one bring a used mattress to the U.S.? (Answers: 3) (Comments: 0)
My girlfriend fell in love with this pine wood bed that she saw during our vacation abroad and wanted to buy it. It is a platform bed with a pillow top mattress on top, manufactured locally. However, we were told by a friend that there are restrictions on taking mattresses into the U.S. I'd like to know what these restrictions are. If it's too costly to bring a mattress in, where could I order a custom size mattress made?
